Aalborg CSP had a specific case study to implement its expertise in the El-Galala Plateau where energy and water is highly requested. Sigma AO, Aalborg CSP’s representative in Egypt, succeeded in reaching a positive conclusion from the Project Director of the El-Galala Plateau. The conclusion was to focus our experience in the East Port Said Development Region. The East Port Said Industrial Park is part of a mega project aiming at increasing the role of the Suez Canal region in international trading and developing the three canal cities: Suez, Ismailia, and Port SaidThe developer will provide the factories with the necessary infrastructure, energy and water in return of a leasing agreement between the developer and factories.
Aalborg CSP’s scope
Aalborg CSP and Sigma AO made an agreement with East Port Said Development to conduct a feasibility study investigating the potential of CSP partially covering the energy and freshwater demand in the industrial park. The purpose of the feasibility study is to determine the technical feasibility and commercial viability of implementing an integrated system based on Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) to provide electricity and desalinated water for the industrial park in East Port Said.
