Aalborg CSP was awarded the contract to deliver steam generator systems based on the leakage-free Header-Coil technology for the world's largest CSP project.
World's largest CSP project
Aalborg CSP received an order for design delivery of the steam generation systems for three CSP plants in Dubai. The three plants will each generate 200 MW of electricity and together with a 100 MW solar tower and a 250 MW PV solar field constitute the world's largest CSP project. When completed, the solar park will supply clean energy to more than 270,000 homes in Dubai and reduce CO2 emissions by 1.4 million tonnes per year.
Aalborg CSP's scope in the project includes design and delievery of two trains of steam generators including instruments, valves, heat tracing for the pressure vessels as well as interconnecting piping.
Header-coil heat exchangers
The project will benefit from heat exchangers based on the leakage-free header-coil technology. These heat exchangers are designed to withstand high pressure, high duty and transient operation. They absorb the dynamic loads and thermal stress of large-scale CSP plants thereby eliminating leakages and avoiding unnecessary system downtime, while also contributing to higher availablility. Moreover, the technology meets the high requirements for thermal performance as well as the requirement for fast ramp-up.
