Aalborg CSP A/S received an order for turnkey delivery of a 1.2MW electrical heat pump system to the Danish district heating plant Saltum Fjernvarme. The system will enable the reduction of the facility’s natural gas dependency as well as help stabilize the energy prices towards the customers.
Customized solution and high COP
The 1.2MW electrical air-to-water heat pump system uses outdoor air as the source for heat production. The system is customized to fit the district heating plant’s specific temperature set and energy needs with a high efficiency (COP) thus lowering the cost of energy. The system will help reduce the facility's natural gas dependency as well as stabilize the energy prices towards the customers.
Heat pump covers 80% of heat consumption
The heat pump system is designed and delivered by Aalborg CSP in close collaboration with Innoterm and Frontmatec.
Integrating a heat pump in a district heating supply adds flexibility to the energy system and allows for higher levels of renewable energy to be utilized for thermal purposes. Producing 8,000 MWh heat annually, the heat pump system covers approx. 80% of the customers’ heat consumption, while also avoiding the emission of at least 1.150 tons of CO2 annually.
