The Indian market
The Indian market is very exciting with its high
ambitions on solar energy, e.g. the "Solar India" programme to
generate 20,000MW solar power by 2022.
Large parts of India have excellent solar resources which makes
the land highly promising for the concentrated solar power
technology.
India's energy consumption has been increasing at one of the
fastest rates in the world due to population expansion and economic
development, and therefore reliable energy sources are crucial.
Using solar power to produce electricity will cut down on the use
of fossil fuel and in that way reduce both the cost and the
emission of CO2.
Experience
Aalborg CSP has delivered solar tower boiler solutions
for both saturated and superheated steam with capacities of 20MWe
as well as steam generators for parabolic trough plants with
capacities of 50MWe to power plants in Europe.
The steam generators
The services from "Aalborg CSP & Sojitz
Corporation" consist of design, delivery and commissioning of
steam generators based on HTF by thermal oil to steam heat
exchanging for CSP-plants. The standard configurations of the steam
generators are 25MWe, 50MWe and 70MWe. Other sizes are available on
request.
The steam boiler is based on steam boiler technology rather than
conventional kettle type heat exchangers.
We have found that this type of steam boiler system combined with
the innovative CSP technology makes a quality power plant with high
efficiency and minimum downtime.
